#chatsafe for parents and carers

Orygen has translated their #chatsafe for parents and carers resource into 11 new languages. The aim is to work safely and inclusively with young people and their families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

The #chatsafe for parents and carers guide recognises that many young people will discuss suicide and self-harm online, and that their carers may worry about this.  Orygen created #chatsafe to help parents and carers feel better equipped when supporting their young person and to know how to navigate these difficult topics.

This evidence based resource has been informed by young people and it includes vital information about how they would like to be supported when it comes to communicating online about suicide.

Resources are now available in Arabic, Chinese traditional, Chinese simplified, Greek, Italian, Khmer, Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese.
