How to Invest

Whether you are new to investing or are a seasoned investor, beginning your investment journey with Future Generation is simple.

Shares in Future Generation Australia (ASX: FGX) and Future Generation Global (ASX: FGG) are listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

Getting Started

Follow the steps below to get started and learn the key benefits of investing with us:

1

Open a broking account

Set up a share trading account with a broker who can execute trades in the share market. Using an online broker is usually more cost-efficient than a traditional stockbroker. If you are new to investing, you can choose to seek financial advice from a full-service broker. You must be over 18 years of age and an Australian resident with a valid Australian address to set up a share trading account.

You can find a broker by asking if your bank has a broking service or via the ASX website.

A financial adviser can also provide you with advice on ways to invest your money and help you understand your personal financial needs and objectives by developing an investment strategy. A financial adviser can also assist you in buying and selling shares.

2

Purchase your shares

Once you have set up your broking account you can purchase your shares in Future Generation’s two Listed Investment Companies (LICs). Note the ASX code for the company, also known as a ‘ticker’, for the LIC in which you wish to purchase shares. Enter the total number of shares you wish to buy. When you buy or sell shares using a broker, you pay a brokerage fee for each trade. Note that you will need to pay for your securities within two days of your broker executing your order.

If you engage a full-service broker, they should be able to complete these steps on your behalf.

3

Being a shareholder

If you purchase shares in Future Generation Australia (ASX: FGX) or Future Generation Global (ASX: FGG), you will receive a welcome letter from our share registry Boardroom.

Once you receive the welcome letter you are able to:

  • Register on the Boardroom share registry portal to manage your holdings online
  • Join our 20,000 subscribers and receive investment and social impact insights
  • Share your feedback by filling out a quick survey to help us understand your needs
“You really don’t have to be a millionaire to be a philanthropist, to use your money wisely to build your own wealth but also contribute towards social good.”
